Introduction
Lightning Training Solutions offers Combined First Aid Courses that includes both First Aid at Work (FAW) and Paediatric First Aid into 3 days of classroom, or blended learning. It provides the skills and knowledge needed to provide both adult and paediatric first aid, while minimising the number of training days required.
In fact, combining both of these courses means that you can shorten a typical 5-day training course into just three days!

First Aid At Work (FAW)
Our First Aid at Work Level 3 (18 hours) course is designed for those who want to serve as first aiders in their workplace. You can find out more information on workplace first aid requirements from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) here. Adequate first aid provision isn't just a legal must; it's essential for everyone's safety.
What You'll Learn
- How to administer first aid to a casualty
- Injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Sudden poisoning
- Anaphylactic shock
- Recognise the presence of major illness (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes)
Timeframes:
- Three days (18 Hours) *6 Hours per day

Paediatric First Aid Training
Having the right Paediatric First Aid in place is not only a legal requirement for most childcare providers, but it is essential for protecting children in all work environments.
Our Paediatric First Aid course is perfect for anyone who works with, or whose service users are under the age of 18. It is particularly useful for people who are working, or planning to work, in childcare settings.
This course meets Ofsted's first aid requirements for early years teachers, nursery workers and childminders, as stated in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014.
