First Aid at Work (FAW) & Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work are two of the most essential qualifications any business can invest in.
Whether you’re a small office or a large industrial site, having trained First Aiders on site isn’t just good practice and in many cases, it’s a legal requirement under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
What’s the Difference?
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is a one-day qualification, ideal for lower-risk workplaces or businesses that need to meet their minimum legal requirement.
It covers the core life-saving skills your team needs to respond confidently in an emergency.
Our First Aid at Work (FAW) course is the more comprehensive three-day qualification, suited to higher-risk environments or businesses that want a more thorough level of cover.
It covers everything in the EFAW course and much more, giving delegates a deeper understanding of how to manage a wide range of First Aid scenarios.
Who Is It For?
Both courses are suitable for anyone in the workplace and no prior First Aid experience is needed. Many businesses choose to train a mixture of EFAW and FAW First Aiders depending on their size and the nature of their work.
How Long Does the Qualification Last?
Both qualifications are valid for three years.

Paediatric First Aid
Paediatric First Aid is a vital qualification for anyone who works with or cares for infants and children.
From nurseries and schools to childminders and after-school clubs, knowing how to respond quickly and correctly in a paediatric emergency can quite literally save a life.
Which Course Do I Need?
We offer two Paediatric First Aid courses depending on your requirements.
The one-day course provides a solid grounding in emergency Paediatric First Aid, whilst the two-day course is the more comprehensive qualification and is the one required by Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework for registered childcare providers.
Who Is It For?
Anyone who works with children in a professional or voluntary capacity.
It’s particularly important for those working in early years settings, schools, sports coaching, and youth work.
If you’re an Ofsted-registered provider, the two-day qualification is a requirement, not just a recommendation.
How Long Does the Qualification Last?
Paediatric First Aid certificates are valid for three years, after which a requalification course is required to maintain the qualification.

Mental Health First Aid
Mental health is now widely recognised as being just as important as physical health in the workplace, and having trained Mental Health First Aiders on your team can make a real difference to your staff’s wellbeing, morale, and productivity.
Our Mental Health First Aid Courses
We offer a range of Mental Health First Aid courses to suit different needs and budgets:
- Half Day which is an introduction to mental health awareness, ideal for all staff
- One Day is a more in-depth qualification covering a wider range of mental health conditions and how to support colleagues
- Two Day the full Mental Health First Aid qualification, equipping delegates to act as a designated Mental Health First Aider within their organisation

Mental Health First Aid training is suitable for anyone in the workplace from frontline staff to managers and HR professionals.

Canine First Aid
For dog owners, walkers, groomers, kennels, and anyone who works closely with dogs, knowing how to respond in a canine emergency is an invaluable skill.

What Does the Course Cover?
Our Dog First Aid course covers the practical skills needed to assess and respond to a wide range of common canine emergencies, including wounds and bleeding, choking, fractures, burns, poisoning, and performing canine CPR.

Who Is It For?
This course is ideal for dog owners, dog walkers, groomers, kennel and cattery staff, veterinary support staff, and anyone who spends time around dogs in either a personal or professional capacity.
No prior First Aid experience is required!

Fire Safety & Fire Marshal Training
Fire safety training is a legal requirement for businesses under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Every workplace must have adequate fire safety procedures in place and that means having trained, confident people who know exactly what to do in the event of a fire.
Our Fire Safety Courses
We offer a range of fire safety courses to suit different roles and requirements:
- Fire Awareness a foundational course suitable for all staff, covering fire prevention, how fires start and spread, and what to do in an emergency
- Fire Marshal Training for those taking on a designated Fire Marshal or Fire Warden role within their organisation, covering evacuation procedures, fire extinguisher use, and responsibilities under current legislation
- Fire Risk Assessment for those responsible for identifying and managing fire risks within their workplace
- Live Fire Extinguisher Training hands-on practical training using real fire extinguishers, giving delegates the confidence to tackle a small fire safely and effectively (This vital practical component is included in both our comprehensive Fire Awareness and Fire Marshal Courses)
Who Is It For?
Fire Awareness training is suitable for all employees.
Fire Marshal training is essential for anyone taking on a formal Fire Marshal or Fire Warden responsibility. We’d generally recommend that all businesses have at least one trained Fire Marshal per floor or work area.
Why It Matters
A fire in the workplace can be catastrophic and not just for the building, but for the people inside it.
Proper training ensures your team knows how to prevent fires, respond quickly, and evacuate safely. It also demonstrates to insurers and regulators that your business takes its fire safety responsibilities seriously.
Moving and Handling
Musculoskeletal injuries caused by incorrect manual handling are one of the most common causes of workplace injury and absence in the UK.
The good news is that the vast majority of them are entirely preventable with the right training.
Our Moving and Handling Courses
We offer two specialist courses in this area:
- Manual Handling covering the safe lifting, carrying, and moving of objects in the workplace. Suitable for a wide range of industries including warehousing, construction, retail, and office environments
- People Moving and Handling specifically designed for those who move and handle people as part of their role, such as care workers, healthcare staff, and support workers. This course covers the additional complexity and responsibility that comes with moving individuals safely and with dignity
Who Is It For?
Manual Handling training is relevant to almost any workplace where staff are required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects as part of their day-to-day role.
People Moving and Handling is essential for anyone working in the care or health sector where assisting individuals with mobility is a regular part of the job.
Why It Matters
Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, employers have a legal duty to reduce the risk of injury from manual handling as far as is reasonably practicable.
Training your team is one of the most effective ways to meet that obligation and to protect your staff from long-term injury.
